Hometown Hero Banner Program
We are excited to announce the 2024-26 Hometown Hero Banner Program for downtown Union City. Not only is this a fundraiser for Main Street Union City, but it is also a way to recognize local men and women who served, currently serve or paid the ultimate sacrifice for the United States of America.
The mission of this program is to honor and recognize Union City area servicemen and women and their families who have served or given their lives to our country in the United States Armed Forces.
To purchase a banner, it is a $300 donation that will cover the cost of production, installation and removal.
In order to be considered for a banner, the nominee must meet the following requirements:
- Lived in Union City or Obion County at some point in their lifetime
- Served in one of the following branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, Coast Guard
- Meet one of the following criteria: currently serving, honorably discharged veteran, died in the line of duty
When purchasing a banner, they will be on display for two years (Memorial Day – Labor Day, 2024 and 2025), and then may be picked up by the person who purchased the banner after the two-year period.
Deadline to have your money and application turned in to Main Street Union City is Fri., March 1, 2024.

All checks made payable to Main Street Union City. You can mail your application and check to Main Street Union City, P.O. Box 382, Union City, TN 38281. You may also drop off your application and payment at the Main Street office, located on the back entrance of 212 S. First St. in Union City.
