2024 Union City Christmas Parade

Main Street Union City is hosting the 2024 Union City Christmas Parade on Thurs., Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. All parade participants are asked to line up in the Reelfoot Shopping Center (with Wendy’s, AutoZone, Dollar General) before the parade begins.

REGISTRATION: A parade registration fee of $10 is required to participate in this year’s parade. Proceeds go to Main Street Union City to continue revitalizing our downtown district.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Parade participants begin to line up and pick up their number at the registration table south of Security Bank and Trust in the Reelfoot Shopping Center. If not pre-registered, participants will register and pay at the registration table.

*Honorary Grand Marshal and Pride of Obion County line up in front of Felecia Bella.

*Large vehicles, police, fire, combines and tractors line up to the right of Goodwill.

*Bands line up in front of Big Lots.

6:30 p.m. Parade begins down S. First Street

Parade Winners will be announced the following day on social media. Categories include:

  • Overall Winner
  • Most Creative Float
  • Best Decorated Vehicle
  • Best Use of Lights

Special request: Main Street Union City has asked the REAL Santa and Mrs. Claus to make a special trip to Union City for this parade. They will be at the very end of the parade. So not to confuse young children, please do not dress as Santa or Mrs. Claus, or you will be put on the naughty list!

Please Note:

*There is  3-vehicle limit to the amount of items a business or organization can have in the parade.
*There is a $10 registration fee per vehicle/float.
*Lineup begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Reelfoot Shopping Center Parking lot.
*There will be 2 tables: a day of registration table, or preregistration check in table
*Horses MUST HAVE manure catch bags. Horses without catch bags will not be permitted
*NO THROWING ANYTHING from floats, antique cars, horses, ATVs, trucks, etc. into the crowd. This is for the safety of those watching the parade.
*You may PASS OUT CANDY to those watching the parade.
*The parade begins at 6:30 p.m.
*The route runs straight down First Street and ends at Main Street.
*There is a 5MPH parade speed limit, the slower the better.
