MAIN STREET UNION CITY WELCOMES ‘REELFOOT BREWING COMPANY’ TO DOWNTOWN

UPDATE AS OF 7/13/24 – Reelfoot Brewing Company has postponed its opening date. They will NOT be opening July 20 as previously announced. Main Street Union City will announce the new opening date as soon as we hear the new date. 

UNION CITY, TENN. – Main Street Union City is excited to announce the opening of the new highly-anticipated brewery in downtown Union City.

Reelfoot Brewing Company first opened in 2022. It was originally located in Trimble, Tenn. When co-owner Eric Sanford, originally from Milwaukee, Wis., decided he needed to expand the brewery, he and his business partner, Jeremiah Hilterbrand, talked with the property owner at 130 S. First St. in Union City and knew it was a perfect fit.

“We are excited about this opportunity to move Reelfoot Brewing to downtown Union City,” said Eric Sanford, owner of the brewery. “Downtown has so much momentum going with new shops, the Nailling apartments and other building renovations taking place. We are excited to bring a taste of our craft beers to town.”

The new brewery is family-friendly and will eventually have yard games, movie nights, shuffle boards and live music. Patrons will enjoy their choice of 12 craft beers on tap with seasonal rotations. The brewery will have a small menu, but customers can order food from two downtown establishments, Bricks & Brews or The Market, and bring it to the brewery.

“Reelfoot Brewing opening in downtown Union City is a home run for our downtown district,” said Katie Graves, Executive Director for Main Street Union City. “With this addition, it will bring more people downtown to eat, shop and enjoy the downtown atmosphere. This is going to be a great economic impact not only for our merchants and restaurants, but also for our city and community members.”

Sanford shared that in the first few weeks of business, the brewery will be open Thursdays from 5:30-8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m. As the owners get a feel for the flow of the customers and the interests of patrons, they will extend the hours to fit those needs.
