MAIN STREET UNION CITY LAUNCHES FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

UNION CITY, TENN.Main Street Union City has just released its 2024-25 supporter levels for downtown merchants, local businesses and individuals. Anyone who has a passion for revitalizing downtown Union City can participate.

Supporters of Main Street Union City play a key role in helping with the downtown revitalization efforts. A few goals that leaders in the organization want to achieve include preserving the timeless buildings that line downtown, seeking new businesses and entrepreneurs to fill those buildings with life, promoting downtown activities to locals and tourists, and organizing committees who put the organization’s plan into action.

There are several levels for all businesses and individuals. Listed below are the levels:
Friend of Main Street: $100
Silver: $250
Gold: $500
Platinum: $750
Diamond: $1,000
Corporate: $2,500
Corporate Elite: $5,000+

Each level includes different perks, such as a highlight video that showcases a business or product, as well as other advertising opportunities.

“With the funds from our Main Street fundraising campaign, we can continue to live out our mission of revitalizing, enhancing and preserving the downtown district of Union City,” said Katie Graves, executive director for Main Street Union City. “Main Street has already made great strides over the past year, and we are excited to see what is next. We can continue this momentum through the support from our local community members and businesses.”

One big win for Main Street over the last year was applying and receiving the large Downtown Improvement Grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. With this reimbursable grant, downtown building owners are able to expose windows, restore old bricks, remove tattered awnings and apply a fresh coat of paint over the next two years. Other downtown improvements that Main Street wants to work towards include adding more murals, recruiting more businesses to downtown and continuing to help the downtown merchants be successful.

With supporters’ contributions, Main Street Union City can continue its mission to enrich the quality of life of all citizens of Obion County by revitalizing the economy, enhancing the historical charm and preserving the architectural heritage of the downtown business district of Union City, Tennessee.
