MAIN STREET UNION CITY HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

UNION CITY, TENN. – Main Street Union City has announced Katie Graves as the organization’s full-time executive director. She is charged with leading the board of directors, volunteers and community members to focus on the Main Street Four-Point approach to revitalizing downtown Union City: design, organization, promotion and economic restructuring.

The Main Street Board of Directors held multiple interviews for this position, with Graves standing out among the candidates with her experience in social media, advertising, promotion, public speaking, budgeting and her passion to help her community thrive.

“Katie had exactly what we were looking for in a Main Street Director,” said Brooke Simmons, president of the Main Street board. “Her energy and enthusiasm is contagious, and Union City is fortunate to have her in this role. Exciting things are ahead.”

Graves grew up in Memphis and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, receiving a degree in public relations and marketing. She moved to Union City in 2014 when she accepted a position at Discovery Park of America in the marketing department. After seven years at the museum, she worked as the public relations director for Dynamix Physical Therapy, helping grow the company’s digital footprint and brand throughout West Tennessee.

The Main Street executive director position is a combination of all skills Graves has learned throughout her career, and she is excited to be back in Union City to serve as the lead for this organization.

“I am thrilled to be the Main Street Director for Union City,” said Graves. “I love this town and this community, and I wanted to be part of the revitalization that is already taking place downtown. I cannot wait to see what is in store for Union City, and I am excited to help lead the way with support from the board of directors, volunteers and community members.”

Graves lives in Union City with her husband, Ben.
